  •       The Copperhead and the Northern Watersnake are often confused for one another. This video makes an attempt at helping viewers properly identify the two snakes, and understand why neither snake should be killed.
Some people have said that I should have included the cottonmouth in this video as they look very similar to the watersnakes. I would have, and I totally see what they mean, but where I live is about 100mi north of the nearest cottonmouth. So in my general area they are not even an option. I have first hand seen people confuse a watersnake for a copperhead and so that was largely the inspiration for this video.

Both snakes were returned to where they were found shortly after this video was shot.
